Aims & Objectives
The objective of the Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) is ...
"To relieve sickness amongst persons suffering from Leukaemia and related diseases in Devon and particularly those persons suffering from Leukaemia and related diseases at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital" (Deed of Trust dated 22 October 1987)
The Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital provides specialist service to approximately 750,000 resident in an area bounded roughly by Bampton in the north, Okehampton in the west, Lyme Regis in the east and Exmouth in the south.
In furthering its objectives the trustees may:
- Promote the extenuation of the facilities of the Haematology Department
- Provide improved amenities including those not normally provided by the Local Health Authority for the treatment or long term care of patients
- Provide items of technology for research into the relief and treatment of Leukaemia and related diseases
- Enter into agreements with the hospital concerning maintenance, staffing or other running costs of equipment provided by ELF
- Manage property or land acquired by ELF
- Publish or promote publications in support of the charity
- Convene and organise meetings and seminars
