Donated money is spent on new equipment, facilities to make treatment more comfortable for both patients and carers and research into methods of managing and monitoring leukaemia and related blood diseases carried out at the hospital.
ELF is looking for 20 people to take part. This 100km Canoe challenge will start in Norway and you will canoe 100km over 5 days through some of Norway and Sweden’s most spectacular scenery. Are you up for the challenge!
20 Years of ELF Canoe Challenge ELF have teamed up once again with locally based survival company Intrepid Expeditions and invite you to canoe 20km a day on a week long canoe expedition. Participants will have the opportunity to camp under the stars, fish for their dinner, mingle with the local wildlife, whilst of course raising money for a good cause.
The week which is planned to take place in August 2008, will involve canoeing down the river Hotagen, starting from inside the Norwegian border, camping along the way at various riverside spots, and finishing on the island of Lovon, in Lake Andviken. The expedition will be ‘self sufficient’ with food and equipment all carried on board 2 man canoes and will be lead by qualified canoeist Nigel Startin of Intrepid Expeditions.
ELF are looking for 20 people to participate in the expedition and to raise a minimum of £1,500 to undertake this exceptional opportunity. Contact the ELF office on 01392 493344 for more information..
